Costco Introduces Vietnamese Coffee Cocktail That’s Challenging Espresso Martini Popularity

Warehouse shoppers in Southern California have uncovered an intriguing new alcoholic beverage that’s generating considerable buzz among caffeine and cocktail enthusiasts. Yoju’s Hard Vietnamese Coffee has appeared on select Costco shelves, offering members a unique fusion of Asian-inspired flavors and alcohol.

This innovative canned beverage combines Korean soju with authentic Vietnamese coffee and sweetened condensed milk, creating a distinctive taste profile that sets it apart from traditional cocktails. With a seven percent alcohol by volume content, the drink packs more punch than typical hard seltzers while maintaining an approachable flavor.

Retail-savvy customers have noted that this product previously debuted at Trader Joe’s approximately four months earlier. However, Costco’s bulk pricing presents a significantly better value proposition. While Trader Joe’s sells a four-pack for roughly fifteen dollars, Costco offers an eight-pack for eighteen dollars, bringing the per-can cost down to just over two dollars.

Early customer feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with shoppers praising the beverage’s smooth drinkability and balanced sweetness. Many reviewers highlight how the condensed milk’s richness mellows the soju’s presence, creating an accessible cocktail that doesn’t overwhelm with alcohol flavor.

Some observers have drawn comparisons to the notorious original Four Loko formula, though these concerns appear overblown. Each can contains only twenty to thirty milligrams of caffeine, substantially less than a standard cup of coffee and even below the caffeine content found in most espresso martinis.

The product’s availability remains limited both geographically and temporally. Currently, only select Southern California Costco locations carry the beverage, and the company indicates this will be a limited-time offering. Customers outside this region can still purchase the cocktail through Trader Joe’s or directly from the manufacturer’s website, though they’ll miss out on Costco’s competitive pricing.
